So many people who approach alternative spiritual practices like witchcraft carry a lot of fear. This is usually a carry-over from prior religious belief that would have us seeing demons around every corner and cowering at the thought of inevitable divine judgment. Fear however runs counter to the very spirit of witchcraft. It is nearly impossible to learn and become something we are afraid of. Our instincts for survival won't allow it. When we can accept fear as another primal component of our being and explore those very personal triggers for fear, we become strong over it in a way that allows true progress. We get to live our lives, not just as witches, but as the people we are meant to be.
Now, maybe you've had a truly scary spiritual moment or two. Maybe you've seen something you can't explain or have been on the receiving end of another person's evil eye. In situations like this it's important to remember these things wouldn't be happening to you if without reason. If you are experiencing the supernatural in ways that alarm and frighten, you may need to consider how you are unconsciously creating space for these things in your life. If you have been crossed, hexed or even cursed, have you possibly done something to open a door to these unwanted energies? Are you living authentically and in a way that limits harm to the world around you? Are you honoring all aspects of your being? Are you deliberately stepping on other people's toes when you shouldn't? These questions aren't coming from a place of judgment; leave that at church. Though they are important questions to ask yourself as you explore your relationship with the spiritual world.
